I don’t like going to the gym after Thanksgiving and especially New Years. The gym is full of all those New Years resolution people. They take all the parking spots. They crowd the gym. And they won’t get off the equipment!
I always kid with my coworkers before I leave work that I’m going to go to the gym and I’m kicking the old lady off of my treadmill. But seriously, New Years is the worst. As I’m waiting for a treadmill to open up, I’m thinking, “Just get off my treadmill. You know you aren’t going to be here in a month any how.”
I really think New Years resolutions are dumb. Most people never stick to them. If you want to get into bodybuilding or you just want to be healthy, you need to get motivated and just do it. It doesn’t matter what time of the year it is. Just do it. Get’r Done! I’ve said this before, but the thing that motivated me is seeing sick people in the hospital. These people shouldn’t be in there having heart issues, being extremely over weight, and totally out of shape. If they would have just got disciplined 10 or 20 years ago, they would be healthy and enjoying life with their families. Instead they are stuck in a bed and feeling miserable.
Here’s a book that might help you get some motivation called Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle. Tom Venuto will show you how to get rid of your fat and feed your muscles.
